Emily Holt is a skilled litigator with a strong foundation in trial advocacy and a passion for serving clients in complex legal matters. A Kansas City native, Emily’s academic and professional journey reflects her commitment to excellence, advocacy, and leadership.

Emily attended St. Teresa’s Academy, where she excelled both in the classroom and on the field as a student-athlete in soccer and basketball. She went on to earn her undergraduate degree from Columbia College in Missouri, where she was actively involved in student leadership and advocacy. As President of the Mock Trial Team, she led her team in national competitions, refining the advocacy skills that would shape her legal career. She also served as Staff Editor for the Columbia College Literary Review, was a member of the Student Government Association, and worked in the Student Affairs office. Her leadership and dedication culminated in delivering the commencement speech for her graduating class in 2018.

Emily pursued her legal education at William & Mary Law School in Virginia, where she distinguished herself as a member of the highly selective National Trial Team. Competing in mock trial tournaments across the country, she honed her litigation skills and gained invaluable courtroom experience. While in law school, she remained committed to mentoring future advocates by continuing to coach Columbia College’s Mock Trial Team.

Following law school, Emily returned to Kansas City and joined Legal Aid of Western Missouri’s Family Law Unit, where she worked tirelessly on behalf of victims of domestic violence. She provided critical legal representation to individuals in crisis, ensuring their voices were heard and their rights protected.

At Skelton Moore, Emily combines her courtroom experience, strategic thinking, and dedication to client advocacy to navigate complex litigation matters. She takes a detail-oriented approach to case strategy, ensuring her clients receive comprehensive legal representation tailored to their needs.

When she’s not in the office, Emily enjoys taking long walks with her husband and dog, listening to audiobooks, experimenting with new recipes, and playing board games.
